Christmas in July - Project 1

Hello Friends!  Today begins my week of Christmas in July!

It was difficult for me to think of Christmas when the temp was topping out at around 100 the last few days.  So I started to think about what I would need for my family and get a head start on those things.  The first thing I needed to work on was some gift card holders.  I think gift cards are the greatest things for those 'hard-to-shop-for' people on your list.

Here is project # 1 - a pop up gift card holder

Excuse the insurance card  :)  It was the only thing I had available!

The base of the gift card holder is cut from green cardstock using the cricut Artiste cartridge.  Have I told you how much I LOVE this cartridge!!!  This gc holder is found on page 55, the card feature on the G key.  I sized it at 5 x 10.861 in CCR.  Then I went over to my other favorite, Elegant Edges and found an image that matched for a mat.  The plaid mat was cut using button 19, Oblong - Shift feature called Swirl2.  This was sized 4.764 x 3.486.  The teddy bear elf is cut from Teddy Bear Parade.  I cut the bear at 2.75 inches and the elf costume is under button 49, also sized at 2.75.  I cut another strip of green cardstock 1 1/4" and trimmed it to fit the front of the card and wrapped it with red and white bakers twine.  The stamp I used is from a Scrappy Moms set called Christmas Cheer.

I hope you enjoyed todays project!!  Join me tomorrow for Christmas in July, Day 2!

I'm linking this project to the Rose Blossom Garden Challenge.
