Hugs & kisses

Hi guys!  It's been a while since I've been on here.  We're going through a heat wave and with no a/c in the house it's just been way too hot to craft!  I am dreaming of fall and the cooler temps!!  I've pulled out some cards I've made in the past and haven't shared until I can get back into my craft room comfortably.

This is a card inspired by one I saw on Pinterest.  The card base is 4x4.  Hugs is cut from Lacy Labels at .5", & is cut from Kate's ABC's at 1.75", kisses is cut from Quarter Note at .6", and the scallop border is cut from Art Philosophy at .75".  I used American Crafts brown/white baker's twine and a punch for the heart. Colors used are lagoon, cocoa, white daisy and champagne.

I used white daisy for a mat and cocoa and lagoon to punch a couple hearts for the inside.

I hope you enjoy today's project!  Have a wonderful day, I'm heading up to the one room in my house that has a window unit to cool off!

Christmas Cardinal

Hi Everyone!  Are you having a good day?  I woke up thinking it was Friday...not fun to realize it's only Thurs.  Oh well....on a positive note I received the CTMH holiday stamps I ordered yesterday and was able to play with them a little last night!  That's always fun!!

I started with this weeks sketch from Mojo Monday:
and the stamp set, To You and Yours:
and here's my card:

The pattern papers are from My Mind's Eye 6x6 pad, Sweater Weather.  I used barn red to ink the edges of the red pattern paper and olive to ink the edges of the green pattern papers.  I added red pearls for the berries and bitty pearls on the top right and bottom left. I popped up the middle banner and the cardinal on foam tape for some dimension.

The sentiment inside is from another stamp set, Yuletide Greetings.

Have a great day!!

Santa Bear

Hi Everyone!  I have a super cute shape card to share for Christmas today.

I used Ribbons and Rosettes for the tree.  I sized it at 5" in CCR.  I flipped one and welded the two images together in white to create the shape card and cut another tree in green for the card front.  I cut the Santa Bear from Teddy Bear Parade at 3" and found the santa bag on Paper Doll Dress Up and cut that at 1.75"  I decorated the tree with various gems and rhinestone embellishments from my stash.  The santa bear is popped up on foam tape for some dimension.

The sentiment inside comes from a stamp set by MaymayMadeIt called Beary Sentimental.  Her stamps can be found in her Etsy shop.  Super cute!

Have a great day!!!

Sock Monkey

Good Morning!  I hope you all are having a fabulous week!  I have a really cute card to share with you today.  I started with a sketch I found online this weekend.

Crazy 4 Challenges
This sketch is a little out of my comfort zone, but I had fun with it!

The card is 5x5.  I used cream cardstock for the base, layered with kraft cardstock 1/8" smaller and inked the edges with Tim Holtz walnut distress ink.  All the pattern papers are from a DCWV stack called The Kidlet stack and I used a dark brown cardstock for matting and the pennant.  The sock monkey and the scallop border were both fussy cut from papers in the stack.  I wanted red gems for the border but didn't have enough, so I used red glitter glue on the border instead.  The letters are DIYthickers that I added red glitter to.  I adhered them to the dark brown cardstock and cut around them for a slight shadow so they would stand out from the background a little better.

I like to have blank notecards around for various things so I left this one blank for now.

Have a great day!!

Happy Autumn

Hello friends!  Although it's 33 days till the official start of fall, I am ready!  It's my favorite time of the year!  I love the crispness in the air, snuggling in warm sweaters and crunching through the leaves.  I especially love the colors of fall.  The leaves of fall is what inspired this card.

I started with a card base 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 with Autumn Terracotta cardstock.  I layered a mat 4 x 5 1/4 with a paper from the Huntington collection. The sentiment is from the Happy Autumn stamp set, inked in Cocoa.  It is on a mat 3 3/4 x 1 1/4 with Champagne cardstock that I inked the edges with Autumn Terracotta ink and added some rhinestones I had in my stash.

The square mat 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 with Goldrush cardstock.  Over that is a mat 3 7/16 x 3 7/16 with Cocoa cardstock and I ran it through the Cuddlebug with the Argyle embossing folder.  I used the Harvest Happiness stamp set for the leaves and acorns.  This is a cricut compatible stamp set that coordinates with Art Philosophy.  I used the sizes indicated on the stamp set and cut them with White Daisy cardstock.  The leaves are found on page 34 and cut at 2".  I used Goldrush, New England Ivy, Ruby and Autumn Terracotta to stamp the leaves.  The acorns are found on page 36 and cut at 1".  I used Chocolate and Saddle inks to stamp the acorns.

For the inside, I layered the same pattern paper I used on the front from the Huntington collection and Champagne cardstock.  I inked the edges of the cardstock with Autumn Terracotta ink.  I used another leaf cut with Art Philosophy, stamped with Harvest Happiness and inked with New England Ivy.  The sentiment is from the For a Friend stamp set and inked with Chocolate.

I hope you enjoy and have a wonderful week!!

Babies are a Blessing

Hi everyone!  Sorry I've been MIA the last week.  I've been busy with work and getting my home back in order and getting back into a school schedule and routine.  I'm working on getting a weekly cleaning schedule together that I can actually stick to and not be so overwhelmed on the weekends.  I'm also working on a chore chart for Max.  I'll have that project posted soon.

For today I have a baby card to share.  I love working on baby projects, probably my favorite things to make!

All the papers are from my scraps - you would think with as many projects I've done with my scraps lately the pile would be going down, but not so much!  I used Paper Doll Dress Up for the moon and stars cut a 3 1/2".  The marquee is from Storybook - I think!  And I used CCR to size it to fit my sentiment.  The sentiment is from a Fiskars stamp set called Precious Baby.

The teddy bear is cut from Christmas solutions at 1 3/4" and I went over the lines in the cut with a brown fine tip marker.  I also added glitter to the stars.

I added a few rhinestones to finish it off.  This is one of my favorite cards ever!  Hope you all enjoy!
Have a wonderful upcoming week!!!

A Chocolate Affair - August special

Hey everyone, today I have some quick 3x3 cards I made using the August stamp of the month.

This stamp set is free through the end of August with a qualifying purchase and will not be available after August.

I love 3x3 cards.  They are perfect to have on hand to send a quick thank you, or, what I'll probably do with these, is punch a hole and add some ribbon and use as cute tags.  Each of these were made with chocolate cardstock cut 3 x 6 and scored at 3" to make a 3x3 card.  You can get 8 cards from 1 sheet of 12x12 cardstock.  They each have a layer of blush cardstock cut 2 3/4 x 2 3/4, then a layer of white daisy cut 2 1/2 x 2 1/2.

For the cupcake, I colored the stamp with markers and  I used chocolate ink for the sentiment.

This one, both images were stamped with chocolate ink. Easy peasey and cute!

I colored the strawberry stamp with markers and used chocolate ink for the sentiment.

This one was stamped entirely with chocolate ink.

I used blush and white daisy for the inside, same measurements as the front and left them blank for now.

Quick, easy and super cute!  Well, I'm off to have some chocolate after making these cards!!!  Have a wonderful day!!

Think Happy Thoughts

Hi everyone!  Happy Monday!  I took the day off of work to spend one last full day with my son before school starts on Wednesday.  Time goes by quicker and quicker with every year and I want to take advantage of these days while he still wants to hang with his mom!

With school starting and summer coming to an end, I thought I would do one last summer card before I immerse myself in fall projects.

I started with a sketch from Sweet Stop Sketches:

And here is my card:

The pattern paper is from My Mind's Eye, Everyday Flair 6 x 6 paper pad.  I used both sides of one sheet to cut down on scraps.  I distressed the edges of all the pieces.  The middle blue piece I ran through the Cuddlebug with the Spots and Dots folder and  I wrapped some orange/white bakers twine around it.

The sentiment is from the CTMH set called Happy Thoughts.  The beach scene is from Formal Occasion cricut cartridge.  I didn't even know these little scenes were on this cart.  I love finding new stuff on old cartridges!!  I sized it at 2.75" and used all the layers.  The water border was added from Best of 2010 cartridge.  I sized it at 1" and then in CCR stretched it until I liked how it looked.  I popped the scene up with foam tape for dimension.

I left the inside blank because I'm not sure what this card will be used for yet and added the one little scrap piece left over from the 6x6 paper I used on the front.

I hope you all have a wonderful week!!!

Gift Ideas from the My Kitchen - Cinnamon Vanilla Creme Syrup

Hi Everyone!  Every year I give gifts from my kitchen. They make great gifts for hostesses, teachers and especially for Christmas. Sometimes it's cookie mix in a jar, baked cookies, homemade fudge, etc...  And every year I look for new ideas.  I'll be sharing these gift ideas from the kitchen, along with ways to dress them up so they are ready for gift giving!

**All recipes have been tested on my husband and son  :)

Cinnamon Vanilla Creme Syrup:

1 c. corn syrup
1 c. granulated sugar
1/4 c. water
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. evaporated milk

In a small saucepan combine corn syrup, sugar, water and cinnamon.  Bring to a boil for 2 minutes.  Turn off heat and stir in vanilla.  Let cool for 5 minutes.  Stir in evaporated milk.  Once cool, pour into your choice of gift giving container. Keep refridgerated.  (I used 2 jelly jars)

I love the color of this syrup and you can see the flecks of cinnamon throughout it so, to dress it up, I kept it very simple

I traced the inside circle of the lid onto a decorative paper from the Huntington collection.  I wrapped some landscaping twine around the jar - you could use many things for this: Ribbon, torn fabric, burlap, raffia...you get the idea :)  Then I stamped a leaf from the Fall Harvest stamp set in Ponderosa Pine ink and fussy cut it out.  I attached it to the twine with a glue dot.

I think these turned out so pretty and so yummy!  I served ours over cinnamon waffles for breakfast this morning.  I would have gotten a pic, but they were devoured.  LOL

Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend!!!

Fabulous Fall

Good Morning and TGIF!!!

Today I have a card to share using the new Huntington paper collection!

I was most excited about this paper, fall is my absolute favorite time of the year!

I used cocoa cardstock for the base and the mats for the Huntington paper.  The leaf comes from the Fall Harvest stamp set and I stamped with Autumn Terracotta, Olive, and Barn Red.  I use the mini pigment pads to make inking the stamp with multiple colors easier.  I stamped the leaf on Champagne cardstock and fussy cut it, then inked the edges with Chocolate.  Fabulous Fall sentiment comes from the same Fall Harvest stamp set.  I stamped it onto Champagne cardstock with Chocolate ink.

The sentiment inside is from the Always Grateful stamp set.

I love, love, love this Huntington paper collection!!  I think this will show up quite a bit in my Fall and Thanksgiving projects!

Have a wonderful day and even more wonderful weekend!
